Overview

Austin Vita are currently recruiting for an Industrialisation Engineer for a 6-12 month contract opportunity with an established Medical Device manufacturing company in the South East. They're looking to bring an experienced Industrialisation engineer onboard to support with their critical project as they transition from development through to commerical scale production.

The core requirements that the client are looking for is previous experience of tech transfer into a highspeed / volume manafacturing enviorment and experience with medical devices which are both essential. Any prior exposure to plastic / injection moulding is highly desirable.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Technical expert for R&D activities in the field of lifecycle management
    • Organization, planning, and execution of sustainable activities in accordance with current quality assurance/environmental/regulatory requirements and standards
    • Review and approval of Design Control documentation to maintain activities
    • Organization, planning, and tracking of execution of product changes, supplier changes, and labeling changes related to lifecycle management projects
    • Support of global product audits according to international/regional/national regulations; technical support for regulatory matters

    Your profile:

    R&D Specialist (m/f/d) in Biocompatibility

    Austin Vita supports a renowned high-tech company in Hechingen in the search for a R&D Specialist (m/f/d) in Biocompatibility.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Ensuring compliance with current regulatory requirements regarding the biocompatibility of medical devices
    • Developing test and evaluation plans for the biocompatibility of medical devices, considering normative, regulatory, time, and cost-specific aspects
    • Monitoring and coordinating the execution of required tests
    • Communicating and coordinating with laboratories, external development organizations, scientific institutions, authorities, and regulatory bodies worldwide for reassessments and changes
    • Evaluating test results and preparing or revising biocompatibility assessments
    • Close collaboration with various departments (development, life cycle engineering, regulatory affairs, production, etc.) in material selection and evaluation within product developments and changes
    • Monitoring and evaluating relevant changes in applicable standards and adjusting processes and documentation accordingly
    • Conducting scientific analyses and literature research for biocompatibility assessments
    • Documentation creation for combination products closely related to biocompatibility assessments

    Your profile:
    • Completed degree (preferably in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biomedicine, or toxicology) or equivalent qualification
    • Several years of professional experience in medical technology, pharmacy, or a related area concerning biocompatibility assessment
    • Thorough knowledge in the application of ISO 10993-1
    • Profound knowledge in biological tests and chemical analysis methods
    • Experience in quality management for medical devices according to ISO 13485 / 21 CFR 820 as well as the Medical Device Regulation (EU 2017/745)
    • Experience with (bio) materials and knowledge in toxicology
    • Professional experience and understanding of product development processes are advantageous
    • Strong communication skills, initiative, and teamwork.
    • Good English language skills in speaking and writing, German is a plus
