Overview

Are you ready to be a part of a cutting-edge team dedicated to developing innovative medical devices? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electronics Engineer with expertise in embedded software to join a market-leading medical device manufacturing company.

You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of electronics engineers to successfully develop and produce complex medical devices used to improve the healthcare market. This role is also very hands-on so your electronics and software development experience will be vital.

Duties:
- Design and develop complex medical devices
- Utilise expertise in RF, analogue, and digital design
- Lead and mentor a team of electronics engineers

Qualifications:
- 1st class degree in Electronics Engineering from a top university
- Proven experience in the design and development of complex medical devices
- Proficiency in RF, analogue, and digital design
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading and mentoring a team
- Experience in embedded software development

    Epidemiology Project Lead

    Austin Vita are currently recruiting an Epidemiology Project Lead for a new, 18 month contract position, supporting an established, and leading business in the Epidemiology research space. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the client on a long term basis, as they enter a key period of growth.

    As Epidemiology Project Lead, you will be a subject matter expert, helping to develop and deliver high quality epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety studies. The role will see you work on a range of tasks, including literature reviews, protocol development, statistical analysis plans and study reports.

    Functioning as Project Lead, you will be working with a team of biostatisticians, PV experts and study data managers to make sure studies are delivered on-time.

    The client are ideally looking for someone with an academic background (master and/or PhD) in epidemiology, health research or equivalent. Experience developing study protocols and generating study documentation in a pharmaceutical or CRO environment is essential.

    Embedded Software Engineer

    We are looking for a Embedded Software Engineer to join their R&D team and play a crucial role in the design and development of their safety critical Medical Devices across the full software development lifecycle (Requirements capture, analysis, design, development and test).

    Ideally, you will also have control systems experience, as part of the role will be working on the creation and tuning of PID loops, and the design and implementation of control algorithms e.g. pneumatics valves, actuators, etc.

    Responsibilities:
    • Coordination of all software product lifecycle activities leading to successful project implementation
    • Creates, shares and documents code using appropriate methodologies
    • Review and interpretation of product specifications
    • Proposes and implements improvements to technology and process

    • Preparation of technical specifications, test plans and operational documentation
    • Software configuration management and version control
    • Develop and maintain a high level of communication with the hardware engineers related to current projects and product design

    Experience required:
    • Embedded C & C++ experience.
    • Embedded multithreaded application development using an RTOS e.g. FreeRTOS.
    • Creation and tuning of PID loops.
    • Exposure to UML.
    • Agile Development with SOLID Design Principles
    • Verification preferably within a regulatory controlled environment, Design Review, Static Analysis, Code reviews, Unit Test, System Test
    • Software configuration management e.g., SVN/GIT
    Nice to have’s:
    • Interpretation of electronic schematic diagrams, uProcessor datasheets and reference manuals
    • MATLAB
    • Working within a regulated software environment
    • Multi-processor safety critical systems
    • Unit Test tools
    • BDD / TDD

    • Build pipelines e.g. Jenkins
