Duties:
Development of new medical device products, from early-stage product concepts to ready for clinical trial devices.
Plan and execute projects, using agreed project protocols, to deliver emerging technology from specification to handover.
Direct and mentor work completed by Level I, II and Senior colleagues to support their personal development and ensure that tasks are completed.
Generate monthly project reports, quantifying progress, performance, cost and associated internal risk relative to the achievement of project goals.
Liaising with (potential) clients regarding product development, gathering market and user requirements and technical specifications for new products, and draft proposals for clients.
Oversee technical analysis of mechanical systems, such as tolerance analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) assessments.
Oversee the procurement of prototype parts using appropriate manufacturing techniques, such as rapid prototyping and machining.
Oversee laboratory testing, including creation of test protocols, designing and procuring test apparatus, analysis of results and report writing.
Development of mathematical models of system or component parts to understand the operation of new medical device products.
